An Israeli security source has suggested the war with Iran could conclude within days, as reports emerge of potential U.S. military backing for Israel—adding significant weight to Tel Aviv’s campaign and possibly accelerating the end of hostilities.

Israeli Source: "War Could End in Days"

According to Israel Hayom, an Israeli security official said, “Our estimates indicate that the war with Iran could end within a few days,” pointing to intensified strikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites. The source hinted that the current pace of operations has significantly undermined Iran’s capabilities.

The statement follows Israel’s recent airstrike on the Khondab nuclear facility and other strategic targets aimed at degrading Iran’s long-term deterrence.

U.S. Military Power May Tip the Scale

Behind the scenes, Washington is reportedly reviewing options to provide more direct military support to Israel if the conflict escalates further. U.S. officials have already warned Iran against retaliatory action, and naval and aerial assets have been repositioned in the region in recent days.

Defense analysts say any visible or confirmed involvement of U.S. forces—ranging from intelligence-sharing to air cover—could dramatically shift Tehran’s calculus.

“American involvement would project overwhelming force and make continuation of this conflict extremely costly for Iran,” a regional analyst told Reuters.

Pressure on Tehran to Pull Back

Iran has launched limited missile salvos in response to Israeli operations but has stopped short of targeting U.S. assets or allies beyond Israel. With Israel intensifying its campaign and the U.S. signaling readiness to intervene, diplomatic and military pressure is mounting on Tehran to de-escalate.

While official U.S. military engagement has not yet been confirmed, the possibility alone appears to be having a deterrent effect. Both Israeli and American officials have stressed their aim is not regime change, but rather the neutralization of Iran’s offensive capabilities.e.
