The Israeli military has confirmed conducting a major overnight operation involving more than 50 fighter jets targeting multiple Iranian weapons production sites around Tehran. According to an army statement, the airstrikes were based on precise intelligence targeting military facilities connected to Iran’s uranium enrichment and missile manufacturing programs.
“The strikes are part of our continued efforts to dismantle the Iranian regime’s nuclear weapons ambitions,” the statement read.
Centrifuge Production, Missile Systems Among Key Targets
Among the sites struck was a facility producing advanced centrifuges—a core component of uranium enrichment. The military said this facility played a direct role in Iran’s push to expand its nuclear capability to levels inconsistent with civilian energy purposes.
Additional strikes hit missile factories and assembly sites for surface-to-surface rockets, which Israel accuses Iran of using to arm regional proxies and threaten its territory.
Israel Signals Strategic Escalation
The attack, one of the largest of its kind since the conflict began, comes amid a broader Israeli campaign to degrade Iran’s nuclear and conventional capabilities. It marks a clear escalation, shifting from limited, covert sabotage operations to full-scale kinetic strikes on Iran’s core military infrastructure.
Defense analysts say the move signals Israel’s determination to prevent Iran from achieving breakout nuclear capability.
