Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Tuesday that Israel will resume strikes on Iran following what he called an “utter violation” of the Trump-brokered ceasefire, despite Iranian officials denying any post-ceasefire missile launches.

Katz Orders Continued Offensive on Tehran

In a public statement, Katz said he had instructed the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s approval, to “continue the intensive operation to strike in Tehran and thwart regime targets and terror infrastructure.”

The Israeli military claimed it had intercepted two ballistic missiles fired from Iran after the ceasefire went into effect early Tuesday.

Iran Denies Launching Missiles After Deadline

Contradicting Israel’s version, a senior Iranian security official told CNN that “no missiles have been fired at the enemy so far” since 7:30 a.m. local time (12:00 a.m. ET), the designated start of the ceasefire announced by President Donald Trump.

“If Israel makes a mistake, all occupied territories will be attacked, just like an hour before the war stopped,” the Iranian official warned, implying Iran is still observing the ceasefire—at least conditionally.

Ceasefire Timeline Under Dispute

The discrepancy over missile launches comes just hours after Trump declared the ceasefire “now in effect,” crediting Qatari mediation for securing Iran’s agreement. Israeli officials insist the truce has already been broken, while Tehran maintains that any further hostilities would be retaliatory.

With both sides trading accusations, fears are mounting that the fragile truce could collapse entirely.
