Signing During Washington Talks

Netanyahu signed the document formalizing Israel’s participation after meeting U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio at Blair House, the official guest residence located next to the White House. Images released following the meeting showed Netanyahu and Rubio holding the signed document, marking Israel’s accession to the initiative.

In a post on X, Netanyahu said he had “signed Israel’s accession as a member of the ‘Board of Peace,’” describing the step as part of ongoing diplomatic engagement with the Trump administration.

Focus on Bilateral and Regional Issues

According to statements shared by Israeli government officials, the meeting between Netanyahu and Rubio included discussions on U.S.-Israel relations and broader regional developments. The talks were held as part of Netanyahu’s broader visit to Washington, where he is also scheduled to meet President Trump.

Israeli officials said the discussions were conducted with the participation of senior delegations from both sides, reflecting continued close coordination between Washington and Tel Aviv.

Gaza Peace Council Framework

The signing formally brings Israel into what has also been described by Israeli sources as the Gaza Peace Council, a body linked to Trump’s broader peace initiative for the region. While specific details about the council’s mandate and structure have not yet been made public, the move signals Israel’s willingness to engage in U.S.-led diplomatic frameworks.

Netanyahu’s Washington visit is expected to continue with further talks aimed at regional security and diplomatic coordination.
