Iran’s military command said Israeli airstrikes continued in multiple phases until 9 a.m. Tuesday, two hours after Tehran was supposed to begin observing the U.S.-brokered ceasefire, according to the timeline agreed upon by both sides.

Israel Violated Ceasefire Phasing

Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya central military headquarters told state TV that Israeli forces struck in three stages leading up to 9 a.m. local time (05:30 GMT), violating the phased ceasefire schedule announced by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Under the agreement, Iran was to initiate the ceasefire at 7:30 a.m. (04:00 GMT), while Israel would follow 12 hours later at 4:00 p.m. (16:00 GMT). This asymmetrical arrangement was intended to de-escalate tensions through a staggered cessation of hostilities.

Iran Threatens Retaliation

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council issued a warning to Israel on Tuesday afternoon, stating that its armed forces are fully prepared to “decisively respond” to any further attacks. The statement underscores the fragility of the truce, which has already been tested by conflicting claims and incidents on both sides.

Ceasefire Fragility Grows

The conflicting interpretations and alleged breaches by both parties have sparked fears that the ceasefire may collapse before it stabilizes. While Israel accuses Iran of violating the truce with new missile launches, Iran contends that it has exercised restraint and only responded to continued Israeli aggression.
