In a statement carried by the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the Army’s Operations Command said YPG terrorist group launched more than 25 first-person view (FPV) explosive drones against Syrian Army deployment sites around Ayn al-Arab, also known as Kobani.

The attacks resulted in the destruction of four army vehicles, the statement said, adding that commanders are assessing developments on the ground and reviewing possible response options.

Defense Ministry: Civilian Areas Targeted

The Defense Ministry’s Media and Communications Department said YPG terrorists launched more than 25 FPV suicide drones from positions around Ayn al-Arab, with most directed at civilian homes and roads in the town of Sarrin, south of the city.

According to the ministry, the attacks caused multiple civilian injuries, while Syrian Army units shot down several drones before they reached residential areas east of Aleppo.

Clashes Near al-Shuyoukh Village

In a separate incident, the army said YPG terrorists surrounded the homes of several families near the village of al-Shuyoukh, close to Ayn al-Arab, as part of what it described as a “systematic arrest policy” aimed at detaining their sons.

The situation later escalated into clashes with local residents, resulting in further civilian injuries, according to the statement.

Ceasefire Breached After Extension

The incidents were reported one day after the Syrian government extended a ceasefire with the YPG by 15 days.

Earlier, Damascus had said a four-day truce had expired and that authorities were considering their next steps following the end of that agreement.
