U.S. President Donald Trump said Washington has held productive talks with Iran on resolving the conflict, announcing a five-day pause in planned military strikes, while Iranian media denied any negotiations took place.

Donald Trump stated that the United States and Iran have engaged in “very good and productive conversations” over the past two days regarding what he described as a “complete and total resolution” of hostilities in the Middle East.

Trump said he had instructed U.S. authorities to postpone any planned strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five-day period.

He indicated that the pause is conditional and depends on the success of ongoing negotiations, which are expected to continue throughout the week.

In his statement, Trump highlighted that the decision was based on the “tone and tenor” of the discussions, describing them as “in-depth, detailed, and constructive.”

He added that further progress in talks would determine whether the pause in military action is extended or lifted.

However, Iranian media outlets affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) rejected Trump’s claims, stating that no discussions had taken place with Washington.

Spokesperson for Iran’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Ebrahim Rezaei said “The battle continues… and another defeat for the devil. Trump and the United States have once again been defeated.”

Iran's Foreign Ministry says there are no talks with Washington and accuses Trump of buying time while regional de-escalation efforts go on.
