Iran’s Nuclear Doctrine

Addressing concerns over Iran’s nuclear activities, Araghchi reiterated that Tehran has consistently affirmed it does not seek to manufacture or acquire nuclear weapons.

“Nuclear weapons have no place whatsoever in Iran’s national security doctrine,” he said, adding that this position is rooted in the country’s defense policy and reinforced by clear religious prohibitions.

He maintained that Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful in nature and operates within the framework of international law.

Criticism Over Israel’s Nuclear Capability

Araghchi accused the international community of turning a blind eye to Israel’s nuclear weapons while portraying Iran’s peaceful nuclear program as a threat.

“They turn a blind eye to the Israeli regime’s nuclear weapons while portraying Iran’s peaceful program as a threat,” he said, arguing that double standards undermine the credibility of global non-proliferation efforts.

He further claimed that Israel has crossed every red line and committed numerous crimes, statements reflecting Tehran’s longstanding criticism of Israeli policies.

Negotiations and Warning of Consequences

The Iranian foreign minister also addressed ongoing negotiations, expressing hope that they would result in a sustainable and negotiated solution serving the interests of all relevant parties and the broader region.

At the same time, Araghchi referred to what he described as the aggression of 13 June 2025, stating that Iran remains fully prepared to defend itself against any threat or act of aggression.

He warned that the consequences of any attack against Iran would not be confined to its borders, signaling potential regional repercussions in the event of escalation.
