Maria Zakharova said the advice “remains the same” amid risks of a new escalation around Iran. She spoke at a Foreign Ministry briefing in Moscow on Nov. 5.
Russians already in Iran should stay alert, she said. They should avoid crowds, mass events, and areas near military or government sites.
What Moscow Told Travelers
Zakharova urged citizens to follow Iranian authorities’ instructions. She said Russians should rely on official information from Tehran.
She also warned against filming critical transport, energy, or military infrastructure. Interfax carried her remarks from the briefing.
Putin Meets Iran’s Security Chief
The same day, Putin received Mohsen Rezaei at the Kremlin. Rezaei is secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
Clash Report earlier covered a reported Rezaei–Putin phone call. Moscow has also deepened arms ties with Tehran, the FT reported.
Clash Report posted meeting footage showing Kremlin aide Ushakov and GRU chief Kostyukov joining the session.
Advisory, Not a Ban
Zakharova framed the guidance as temporary until the situation settles. She did not announce a formal travel ban.
Russia continues to watch developments closely, she said. The MFA did not link the advice to the Kremlin meeting.
The note comes as Iran and the United States remain in a wider regional confrontation. Moscow has kept close political contact with Tehran.
