Decision Desk HQ projected that Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff won reelection in Georgia on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026. He beat Republican Rep. Mike Collins, whom President Donald Trump endorsed.
The projection came at 7:18 p.m. ET, minutes after polls closed. Its last published tally had an estimated 9% of the vote counted. The Associated Press had not called the race.
Georgia Was a Top Republican Target
Ossoff first won his seat in a January 2021 runoff. Republicans had made Georgia their best chance to flip a Democratic seat.
Ossoff ran a campaign built on attacks against Trump. He raised about $136.6 million through mid-October, according to FEC data on the Decision Desk HQ race page. Collins raised about $12.9 million.
Decision Desk HQ’s pre-election forecast gave Ossoff an 89% chance of winning. Its polling average put him ahead by nearly 10 points.
Control of the Senate at Stake
Republicans entered election night with a 53-47 Senate majority. Democrats need a net gain of four seats to take control.
Ossoff’s win follows Mark Warner’s reelection in Virginia, the first Senate race called of the night. Results are updating on the midterms live page.
