ClashReport
The RSF announced on October 26 that its fighters had seized the Sudanese Armed Forces’ Sixth Infantry Division in El Fasher after days of heavy fighting. The army described the loss as a “tactical withdrawal,” saying its units had repositioned to new defensive lines.
Civilian Executions and Looting Alleged
The Sudan Doctors Network reported that RSF fighters executed civilians on ethnic grounds on the evening of October 26. The group described the killings as “an act of ethnic cleansing” and said hospitals and clinics were looted during the assault. Dozens are feared dead, though access to affected areas remains blocked amid total security collapse.
Battle for the Sixth Division
RSF videos showed fighters celebrating inside the Sixth Infantry Division compound; analysts verified the location but not the date. The militia called it a decisive victory, while the army insisted its withdrawal was tactical and aimed at preserving remaining assets.
City Under Siege
Residents described shelling near neighborhoods and hospitals, with fuel and food stocks nearly depleted. About 260,000 civilians—roughly 130,000 children—remain trapped under bombardment and sniper fire as aid convoys fail to reach the city.
War’s Human Toll
Since April 2023, Sudan’s conflict has killed tens of thousands, displaced 12 million, and left 30 million in need of aid. The RSF now controls most of Darfur’s cities, while the army holds eastern strongholds amid growing regional spillover risks.
