Zelensky: "I Am Ready" to Sign Peace Deal at Oval Office
Pro-Trump influencer Laura Loomer asked President Zelensky about signing a peace deal in the Oval Office; he said he is "ready," pending Trump's decision.
Pro-Trump influencer Laura Loomer, who has recently shifted from anti-Ukraine to pro-Ukraine positions, interviewed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv.
Asked whether he would sign a peace deal with Russia in the Oval Office, Zelensky said: "Yes, I am ready. I am ready to come to the Oval Office or Mar-a-Lago for the peace deal. It depends on Trump."
Loomer's Reversal on Ukraine
Loomer told Zelensky she had previously written roughly five articles for Russian state broadcaster RT and "regret[s] doing so," saying she had been "bamboozled by Russian propaganda" into believing "untrue things about Ukraine".
Zelensky responded: "We are not Nazis."
She also acknowledged mocking Zelensky on social media in the past and said her prior opposition stemmed from being "a Republican" unhappy with billions in U.S. tax dollars going to Ukraine.
Zelensky Picks Lincoln Over Trump
When asked who is the best U.S. president, Zelensky named Abraham Lincoln.
After being told that Trump would watch the interview, Zelensky called Trump "a good, strong leader" but added: "He's the best or not, of course, history will answer. Sometimes we live and we don't know, sometimes we have monuments for somebody, and then we understand that it was not great person."
Trump Responds Positively
Trump has since praised Loomer's interview with Zelensky on X.
