US to Host Qatar, Türkiye and Egypt for Gaza Ceasefire Talks

Diplomatic efforts to advance the Gaza ceasefire are intensifying as the United States prepares to host high-level talks with Qatar, Türkiye and Egypt. The meetings, scheduled to take place in Miami, come amid ongoing Israeli attacks and repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement.

High-Level Talks in Miami

US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff is expected to hold meetings in Miami, Florida, with senior representatives from Qatar, Türkiye and Egypt. A White House official said the discussions will focus on the future of the ceasefire agreement aimed at halting Israel’s war on Gaza.

According to US media reports, the meeting will include Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty.

Parallel Consultations in Israel

As the talks take place in the United States, Israel is also holding internal discussions. Israel’s public broadcaster, citing an Israeli official, reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is conducting a limited security consultation to assess the second phase of the ceasefire and possible scenarios.

The official warned that Israel could launch a new military campaign aimed at disarming Hamas if US President Donald Trump were to disengage from the Gaza process. However, the source acknowledged that such a move is unlikely, as Trump is keen to maintain calm in the enclave.

Ceasefire Under Strain

Despite Washington’s insistence that the ceasefire remains in place, Israeli military operations have continued almost uninterrupted. Israel has been accused of reneging on the terms of the first phase of the agreement and blocking the free flow of urgently needed humanitarian aid into the besieged Gaza Strip.
