The number of Palestinians killed while attempting to access aid in the besieged Gaza Strip has reached 613 since May 27, according to the United Nations. The toll comes amid ongoing Israeli attacks and new concerns over the conduct of US security contractors deployed at aid distribution points.

A report cited by humanitarian monitors claims that contractors hired to secure controversial aid zones have used live ammunition and stun grenades, further exacerbating fears among civilians.

At least 27 Palestinians were killed across Gaza on Friday alone, as the Israeli offensive continues unabated.

Ceasefire Talks Ongoing

Hamas announced it has begun internal consultations on a new proposal mediated by international actors that envisions a 60-day ceasefire. A formal response is expected soon, though details of the proposal remain undisclosed.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, Israel’s military campaign has killed at least 57,130 people and wounded 134,592 others since October 2023. Meanwhile, in Israel, the October 7 attacks left 1,139 people dead and over 200 taken captive.
