Ukrainian Flamingo Missiles Strike Volgograd Defense Plant Deep Inside Russia

Ukraine conducted a long-range missile strike on Saturday night against a major military manufacturing plant in Russia’s Volgograd region, marking an intensification of Kyiv’s deep-strike operations inside Russian territory.

Ukrainian-made Flamingo missiles targeted the Titan-Barrikady plant overnight, causing significant fires at the industrial complex.

The facility is a key production site for Russian artillery systems and components used in missile launch platforms.

Kyiv's Expanding "Long-Range Sanctions"

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the operation, stating that the strikes successfully targeted the complex where specialized military equipment is manufactured.

He characterized the operation as part of Kyiv's expanding "long-range sanctions" against Russian defense infrastructure.

The newly deployed Flamingo missiles feature an operational range of 3,000 kilometers.

This capability provides Ukraine with a high-end alternative to the long-range drones it traditionally deploys for deep-penetration missions.

The city of Volgograd is located approximately 460 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, positioning the facility well within the reach of Kyiv's expanding missile inventory.

Casualties and Damage Confirmed

Volgograd Governor Andrey Bocharov acknowledged the strike on Telegram, confirming that an unnamed facility within an industrial zone sustained damage.

He reported that the resulting blazes were quickly extinguished by emergency services.

The attack resulted in human casualties at the manufacturing site.

Local authorities confirmed that one factory worker died and 11 other individuals were hospitalized following the strike.

Broader Campaign Escalates

The strike occurs amid a wider Ukrainian campaign targeting critical Russian industrial and logistics infrastructure.

In a separate operation, Ukrainian SBU security service drones attacked the Vtorovo oil pumping station in the Vladimir region for the second time this month.

The Vtorovo facility functions as a critical logistics hub for shipping petroleum products to domestic Russian consumers and export markets.

Zelensky emphasized that systematic pressure on Russian industrial infrastructure is intended to establish the groundwork for a negotiated settlement.

The strikes follow recent operations earlier this month targeting critical infrastructure near Moscow and in Russian-occupied Crimea.
