The United Kingdom and several allies, including the United States, issued a stark cybersecurity advisory on Wednesday, warning of a state-sponsored cyber campaign by Russia’s military intelligence service (GRU). The campaign targets organizations involved in delivering aid and logistical support to Ukraine, including key technology and infrastructure companies.

“This malicious campaign by Russia’s military intelligence service presents a serious risk to targeted organisations,” said Paul Chichester, Director of Operations at the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).

The joint advisory highlights increasing concern over digital threats to humanitarian and military supply chains aiding Ukraine. While specifics on attack vectors were not disclosed, officials noted that logistics companies and technology vendors are particularly vulnerable as they play a vital role in coordinating assistance to the Ukrainian front.

The campaign is believed to involve phishing, credential harvesting, and other forms of espionage and disruption.
