UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed arrived Monday at the presidential palace in Luanda, Angola, for a state visit, where he was welcomed with full official honors by President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço. The visit is part of efforts to deepen relations between the two countries, with discussions expected to center on development, economic cooperation, and infrastructure partnerships serving the mutual interests of both nations.

The reception ceremony included a 21-gun salute, the playing of national anthems, and an honor guard lined up at the palace entrance. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and President Lourenço stood on the platform of honor before greeting senior ministers and officials from both countries. The UAE leader was accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun, along with ministers responsible for energy, economy, trade, health, and foreign affairs.

During the visit, the two presidents are scheduled to hold talks on expanding joint projects, particularly in development and infrastructure. Both sides are expected to explore new avenues of investment in energy, trade, and tourism, as well as agreements in health, environment, and technology. The visit highlights growing UAE interest in Africa, reflecting Abu Dhabi’s strategy of strengthening partnerships with key regional players to support mutual prosperity and stability.
