A full-blown political civil war is ripping through the MAGA movement, with U.S. President Donald Trump and his former loyalists trading fierce insults & accusations over the Iran war, exposing a deepening MAGA split as public attacks and internal opposition escalate during ceasefire talks.

Trump ignited the clash with a 372-word Truth Social post targeting Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Alex Jones and Candace Owens - figures who once formed the backbone of his media ecosystem.

“They’re stupid people… everyone knows it,” Trump wrote, adding, “They’re not MAGA, they’re losers.”

The remarks marked a sharp break with voices that helped amplify his 2024 campaign, many of whom command audiences in the millions. Carlson alone previously drew more than 4 million nightly viewers on Fox News before building a new platform on X.

The rupture accelerated after Carlson condemned Trump’s Iran policy, calling his rhetoric “vile on every level” and urging politicians and soldiers not to follow escalation orders that entail mass casualties.

Trump responded by branding Carlson a “low IQ” “fool,” escalating the confrontation.

Carlson later said he felt “sorry for him,” adding, “The Israelis have him in a hammerlock,” while also stating he feels sorry for “all slaves,” framing Trump as constrained by outside forces while implying he was enslaved.

Candace Owens escalated further, writing: “MAGA is no longer commanded by you,” and, “You belong to the Epstein class,” adding that Trump would “die a slave.”

Trump fired back by calling her “Crazy” and mocking her publicly, while Alex Jones declared: “The new Trump is a rotting husk of the old Trump,” urging him to break free from outside influence.

Parallel messaging from Carlson’s network claimed Trump was under extreme pressure and effectively “mind controlled” by external actors.

The divide has spread to political figures. Marjorie Taylor Greene said: “President Trump has gone mad as he wages war against Iran,” adding, “We never changed… Trump did.”

Greene, who left Congress in January 2026, had been one of Trump’s most prominent allies, underscoring the scale of the rupture.

The conflict now spans media, activists, and political figures, fragmenting what had been a tightly aligned coalition.

The infighting comes as a fragile two-week ceasefire with Iran holds and Vice-President JD Vance leads negotiations.

At the same time, Trump has indicated the U.S. is rearming for potential renewed conflict, raising pressure on an already divided base.
