Trump Unveils Passport Marking US 250th Anniversary With His Portrait

President Donald Trump has unveiled an updated rendering of his own portrait for a limited-edition U.S. passport commemorating the 250th anniversary of American independence.

The White House shared the image Friday, labeling the document a "PATRIOT PASSPORT."

Updated Design Features

The Friday rendering displays a sample page featuring Trump's portrait surrounded by text from the Declaration of Independence.

The president's signature is written in black, with "250" inscribed in gold. Both this page and a secondary one feature an American flag rippling across the background.

The separate page depicts the Founding Fathers signing the Declaration of Independence, based on John Trumbull's oil painting, which took more than three decades to complete.

The phrase "United States of America 250" appears underneath in red and gold.

Institutional Rollout

The State Department will issue the passport at the Washington Passport Agency in D.C. starting July 6 while supplies last.

A department spokesperson stated the agency is proud to release a document that boldly honors the nation's founding and the president.

The physical document will feature a "Freedom 250" gold flag on the back cover.

The Trump portrait will occupy the inside front cover, while the Founding Fathers will appear on the inside back cover.

Image and Text Alterations

The latest rendering modifies an earlier April version that featured different artwork.

The updated portrait shows Trump in the Oval Office leaning over the Resolute Desk with balled fists and an intense stare.

This image is based on a Daniel Torok photograph from the Smithsonian "America's Presidents" exhibition.

It replaces a previous photo that included a caption noting Trump's first term, two impeachments, reelection, and the January 6, 2021, insurrection.

On social media, Trump called the document "The U.S.A.'s New Passport" and claimed it states, "Welcome, but be good!"

However, those words do not appear in the posted images.
