In a dramatic statement on Truth Social, U.S. President Donald Trump declared Russian President Vladimir Putin has “gone absolutely CRAZY” following what Ukrainian officials say was the war’s largest airstrike. “He’s killing a lot of people. I’m not happy about that,” Trump said, referring to the barrage of 367 drones and missiles that struck Ukrainian cities over the weekend, killing at least 12, including children.
Trump hinted at additional sanctions against Russia, though no formal measures have been announced.
In an unexpected twist, Trump also rebuked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, saying the Ukrainian leader is “doing his Country no favours by talking the way he does.” Trump warned that Zelenskiy’s rhetoric could be fueling tensions, stating bluntly, “It better stop.”
The criticism marks a rare public rebuke of Ukraine by a sitting U.S. president amid ongoing military support.
Despite growing international alarm, Russia continues its offensive in eastern Ukraine. Both sides are deploying large swarms of drones, with intense fighting reported across frontline regions. Russian officials claim the war is a defensive operation against NATO encroachment, while Ukraine maintains it is resisting unprovoked aggression.
The Kremlin has not responded to Trump’s remarks, and Zelenskiy’s office remains silent.
