Trump Calls Iranian Leadership 'Cuckoo,' Says Ceasefire is Over

U.S. President Donald Trump declared Wednesday that the ceasefire with Iran was finished during the NATO summit in Ankara.

He signaled a definitive withdrawal from bilateral diplomacy, stating his explicit refusal to continue engaging with Tehran.

The U.S. and Iran escalated tensions on Tuesday after exchanging military strikes and economic penalties.

Washington launched an extensive wave of airstrikes against dozens of Iranian coastal targets hours after revoking a temporary license that allowed Tehran to sell oil on the open market.

Tehran immediately retaliated with missile and drone strikes against Gulf states hosting U.S. military bases, threatening to completely unravel the memorandum of understanding signed on June 17 to wind down the war.

Fractured Nuclear Dialogue

Trump accused the Iranian government of systematic deception regarding nuclear proliferation agreements.

He outlined a diplomatic pattern where Iranian delegates finalize terms to halt weapons development, only to immediately contradict those discussions in public.

"They're liars," Trump stated, characterizing the leadership as erratic. "We make a deal. Everyone's agreed. No nuclear weapon."

He noted that officials then "go outside, talk to the press, they say we never even talked about it."

While American envoys may maintain their diplomatic channels, the president dismissed the utility of further dialogue.

"I'll let our wonderful negotiators keep talking if they want, but I don't see it," he said, suggesting a competent administration would have secured an agreement 47 years ago.

Domestic Casualties and Threats

Trump leveled severe allegations regarding Iran’s domestic security operations, claiming state forces have killed 54,000 citizens during recent demonstrations.

He dismissed the viability of a civilian uprising, noting that an unarmed populace cannot confront state security forces equipped with heavy weaponry.

"Nobody's going to take over, they have no guns, and the other side has machine guns," Trump remarked, accusing the media of ignoring the casualty rates.

The U.S. leader also acknowledged his direct inclusion on Iranian target lists, attributing his ongoing safety to capable security personnel and sheer luck.

Categorizing the ruling apparatus as an urgent geopolitical threat, Trump likened the government to a malignancy.

"These are evil, sick people, and we have to rid their cancer," he concluded. "You got to cut out cancer early."
