Sudan Army AKINCI Destroys RSF Terror Group's Chinese FK-2000 Air Defenses

A Sudanese Armed Forces Bayraktar AKINCI drone has destroyed a Chinese-made FK-2000 air defense system operated by the UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces, according to exclusive footage obtained by Clash Report.

The strike marks another confrontation between the army’s Turkish-built heavy unmanned aircraft and Chinese-manufactured equipment fielded by the RSF.

AKINCI Targets RSF Air Defense

The FK-2000 was supplied to the RSF by the UAE, according to information accompanying the footage.

Its destruction broadens the type of Chinese-built RSF equipment engaged by Sudan’s AKINCI fleet, which has previously been used against unmanned aircraft in air-to-air combat.

The latest strike involved an air defense system rather than an airborne target, placing the AKINCI directly against equipment intended to contest aerial operations.

Chinese Systems Face Repeated Losses

The Sudanese military has also used AKINCI drones to intercept Chinese-manufactured CH-95 aircraft operated by the RSF.

In one previous engagement, an AKINCI shot down a CH-95 northwest of El Obeid in North Kordofan using air-to-air guided munitions.

Another CH-95 was destroyed days later, making it the second RSF-operated aircraft of the type lost to an AKINCI within a week.

Those engagements formed part of a wider sequence of at least five Chinese-manufactured drone losses attributed to the RSF over several weeks.

The losses included CH-95 and larger FH-95 platforms operating across White Nile State, North Darfur and North Kordofan.

Turkish and Chinese Platforms Collide

The encounters underline the increasingly direct contest between Turkish-built systems operated by the Sudanese military and Chinese equipment in RSF service.

The CH-95 has a stated weight of 650kg, a payload capacity of 170kg, endurance of six to 12 hours and a service ceiling of 7,000 meters.

Its mission equipment includes synthetic aperture radar, electro-optical reconnaissance systems and communications relay capabilities used to support dispersed forces on the ground.

By comparison, the AKINCI has a maximum takeoff weight of 6,000kg, endurance exceeding 24 hours, and a service ceiling above 13,700 meters.

Its active electronically scanned array radar lets it detect and engage airborne targets while operating at a much higher altitude than the CH-95.

Sudanese forces have used those characteristics to conduct combat air patrols and intercept RSF reconnaissance drones with air-to-air weapons rather than relying solely on ground-based air defenses.
