Russian forces launched multiple waves of ballistic missile attacks on Ukraine's capital Kyiv overnight on November 6–7, injuring at least two people and damaging residential buildings and a kindergarten just days before US-led peace negotiations.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported explosions across the capital and its suburbs, saying Russian forces were targeting infrastructure with ballistic missiles.

According to Ukraine's Air Force, at least six missiles were launched toward Kyiv shortly before 11 p.m. local time on Friday.

Another wave of explosions was reported shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday, followed by further blasts around 3 a.m.

Kyiv's military administration said two people were injured in the capital and were receiving medical treatment.

Missile debris damaged a five-story residential building in the Solomianskyi district, while another apartment building sustained damage to its facade and windows.

A kindergarten was also damaged, and a fire broke out in a non-residential building in the same district.

In the surrounding Kyiv region, authorities reported that a drone strike in the Brovary district injured another person and caused a fire at a residential property.

The attacks followed a warning by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that Russian forces were preparing another large-scale assault on energy infrastructure, bridges and civilian facilities.

Kyiv has faced repeated strikes against its energy network in recent weeks, resulting in widespread electricity and water disruptions as winter approaches.

The latest bombardment occurred three days before Ukrainian and Russian negotiators were scheduled to attend US-led peace talks in Abu Dhabi.

Officials warned residents that further missile strikes remained possible as emergency services assessed the damage.
