Larijani’s arrival was marked by an elaborate reception reflecting the significance of his visit. He was welcomed by Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs representative Rodrigue Khoury, Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Mujtaba Amani, and a delegation from the Amal Movement on behalf of Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri. Hezbollah lawmakers Amin Sherri and Ibrahim Moussawi were also present, alongside Palestinian representatives from Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
Outside the airport, supporters gathered, waving Lebanese and Iranian flags, and chanting in favor of the Iran-Lebanon alliance. The turnout highlighted the political and symbolic weight of Larijani’s presence, particularly for groups aligned with Tehran’s regional policies.
According to Iranian and Lebanese sources, Larijani’s meetings with Lebanese leaders will focus on enhancing political dialogue and exploring avenues for economic assistance, particularly in energy and infrastructure sectors. Discussions are also expected to touch on coordinated security strategies in response to ongoing regional instability, including cross-border tensions and the impact of regional conflicts on Lebanon’s internal stability.
Larijani emphasized that Iran seeks to deepen its support not only through governmental channels but also via cooperation with Lebanese civil and political institutions. The visit is seen as part of a broader Iranian effort to reaffirm alliances with key partners in the Middle East at a time when shifting geopolitical alignments are influencing regional power balances.
