Argentine President Javier Milei said that “whoever messes with Israel messes with the entire West.” He made the remark on Monday, Nov. 2, at a pro-Israel event in Buenos Aires, Infobae reported.

He added that Argentina “will not rest for a single second” in protecting “the treasure of our civilizational heritage.” The line closed his speech.

Where and When He Said It

Milei spoke at the “Night of Celebration for Israel” at the Visión de Futuro church in Buenos Aires’ Boedo district. The Latin Coalition for Israel organized it and gave him its Gratitude Award, the presidency said.

Coalition head Mario Bramnick presented the prize. It recognized Milei’s support for Israel, his recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and the announced embassy move.

The original Spanish, as Infobae quotes it, is “quien se mete con Israel, se mete con todo Occidente.” The presidency’s written summary does not include that line.

What Else He Said

Milei said Argentina does not defend Israel out of “a personal whim of the president.” He called Israel “the bulwark of our values” against those who “want to destroy us.”

He recalled the 1992 embassy bombing and the 1994 AMIA attack, which killed 114 people. He said courts point to Iran and Hezbollah, and added that “terrorists are not alone.” He accused the “international left” of helping them.

He also congratulated Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu again. Likud finished first in Israel’s election, but Netanyahu’s bloc fell short of a majority, The National reported.

Netanyahu now says he wants a broad government, as we reported. Opposition leader Gadi Eisenkot says he will not serve under him.

Outside the church, neighbors banged pots in protest. Milei blew them a kiss, Clarín reported.

Argentina’s Israel Alignment

The line echoes his June 30, 2026 speech. Milei told a pro-Israel conference that “if Israel falls, all of the West is next,” the Buenos Aires Times reported.

He promised in 2025 to move the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in 2026. On April 19, 2026, he said it would happen “as soon as conditions allow,” with no date, Bloomberg Línea reported.

Costs and logistics have slowed the plan, Corta reported. Milei also welcomed Pope Leo XIV’s coming visit to Argentina, the first since John Paul II in 1987.
