Johannesburg Airport became the scene of an international crisis when a group of Palestinians arriving from Gaza was not allowed to disembark from their flight. Behind the scenes, Israel is reportedly implementing a new tactic to extract civilians from Gaza.

According to sources, Israel established “fake offices” promoting travel to South Africa, a country that does not require visas for Palestinian passports. Travel packages were reportedly sold for $2,700 per person, and passengers were directed onto flights departing from Israel’s Ramon Airport.

“Entry Conditions Manipulated”

South African authorities intervened after noticing irregularities. Officials determined that the entry conditions for passengers had been manipulated. As a result, the airport refused to allow the passengers to disembark and decided to keep the plane at the airport until a solution could be found. One of the options reportedly being considered was to return the plane to Ramon Airport.

The incident has drawn attention in Israeli media, with headlines such as “South Africa Files Genocide Case but Rejects Palestinian Refugees.” The situation has placed the spotlight on Israel’s new forced-migration tactics in Gaza as well as South Africa’s firm stance following its genocide case at the International Court of Justice.
