Israeli Strikes Displace 160,000, Kill Dozens in Gaza

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that more than 160,000 Palestinians were displaced in Gaza over the past week as Israel intensified its military campaign. OCHA stated that 81% of the Gaza Strip is either under Israeli occupation or evacuation orders, leaving civilians with “no shelter or supplies.”

Israeli forces warned residents of Jabalia camp and 13 other locations to evacuate immediately, prompting fears of further large-scale attacks.

On the same day, Al Jazeera reported that at least 85 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes, including in Jabalia, Gaza City, Khan Younis, and Nuseirat. Civil defense teams continue to search for approximately 30 missing people, mostly trapped under rubble from multistory residential buildings.

The bombings also struck civilian infrastructure, including a water desalination plant and an apartment housing aid workers, further straining relief efforts.

Warnings of Genocide and Humanitarian Collapse

Gaza officials and international organizations have increasingly warned of a “policy of systematic starvation,” with humanitarian aid blocked at border crossings. The enclave’s 2.2 million residents face acute shortages of food, water, and medicine.

Israel’s military actions, described by officials and media as part of “Operation Gideon’s Wagons,” have continued unabated for 20 months since October 7, 2023. Local reports say more than 38,000 Palestinians have been killed or wounded, with over 11,000 missing—mostly women and children.
