Two Lebanese civilians, a father and his son, were killed and another injured in an Israeli drone strike targeting the outskirts of Shebaa in southern Lebanon, in a fresh escalation of cross-border violence.
Strike Hits Family in Border Area
According to Lebanese media reports, the victims were shepherds caught near the border during the Israeli attack, which hit their vehicle with two missiles. The vehicle caught fire following the impact. The Israeli military has not commented publicly on the specific incident.
Local authorities said the injured son was transported to a nearby medical facility.
Ongoing Violations of Ceasefire Agreement
The strike is the latest in a string of Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on November 27, 2023. According to Anadolu Agency, Israeli attacks have killed at least 209 people and wounded 504 others in Lebanon since the truce was declared.
Despite partial Israeli withdrawals from Lebanese territory it seized in the early phases of the war, tensions remain high along the southern frontier.
