According to reports, Israeli aircraft struck multiple locations in the Tyre district, including residential neighborhoods and open terrain near suspected Hezbollah infrastructure. In Nabatieh, strikes reportedly hit areas close to the town of Zawtar, with local sources confirming both civilian and military casualties.

The Lebanese army later issued a statement confirming the death of one of its soldiers during the Israeli bombardment. Emergency crews were dispatched to assess structural damage and secure the affected zones.

The attacks come amid growing tension along the Lebanon-Israel border, where daily confrontations between Israeli forces and Hezbollah units have escalated since early 2024. Israeli defense officials claimed the airstrikes were in response to recent missile launches from Lebanese territory.

Hezbollah Responds With Cross-Border Missile Strikes

Following the Israeli bombardment, Hezbollah announced it had launched a series of retaliatory attacks using guided missiles targeting Israeli military posts. The group claimed direct hits on several positions, though no Israeli casualties were officially reported.

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) issued an urgent call for de-escalation, warning that continued military activity risks plunging the border region into broader conflict. UNIFIL personnel remain deployed in southern Lebanon and continue monitoring the situation.

Tensions remain high as both sides exchange fire regularly, with civilians on both sides of the border facing increasing risk. The latest strikes have raised concerns of a wider confrontation if diplomatic efforts fail to restore calm.
