The Israeli military announced that it had struck six Iranian airbases across western, eastern, and central regions of the country, destroying 15 aircraft and helicopters in what it described as a mission to "deepen air superiority in Iranian skies."

Strategic Targets Neutralized Across Multiple Regions

According to a statement by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the air raids targeted a wide array of military assets including runways, underground bunkers, and a refueling aircraft. Among the destroyed equipment were Iranian F-14 and F-5 fighter jets and AH-1 attack helicopters.

“These aircraft were intended for use against Air Force aircraft and to thwart their attacks on Iranian territory,” the IDF said.

Air Superiority Objective

The strikes appear to be part of a broader Israeli campaign to suppress Iranian air power in the wake of U.S. and Israeli joint operations targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. The IDF emphasized that its actions were aimed at disrupting the Iranian army’s ability to launch or sustain aerial operations.

“The Air Force disrupted the ability to take off from these airports and the operation of the Iranian army’s air power from them,” the military statement added.
