Iran Security Chief Rezaei Vows to 'Break America's Horns' If War Starts

Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, says Iran will "break America's horns" if war starts. He says Tehran has "something" it has not revealed, according to Iranian media. The remarks come as he weighs a letter from U.S. Vice President JD Vance.

Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, warns that Iran will "break America's horns" if war starts. Fars News Agency carried the remarks on Saturday, Oct. 31, alongside other comments from a state TV interview.

He framed the question himself. "Some ask why we insist on punishing America. Do you have something in hand that you don't want to reveal?" he said. His answer was: "Yes, we have something!"

What Rezaei Said

"If war starts, we will break America's horns in such a way that we will see what this hornless cow can do in the world from now on," Rezaei said, according to Iranian media. The reports Clash Report reviewed do not say what he means by "something." They name no weapon or plan.

Fars also quoted him on why Iran seeks to punish Washington. He argued that leaving Trump and America unpunished would invite other countries to attack Iran. Mehr News Agency carried a similar line with slightly different wording.

Vance's Letter and the Nuclear Question

In the same interview, Rezaei said he has read a letter from Vice President JD Vance but has not replied. "Their tone has completely changed, and this is a very good sign," he said, according to Press TV. He said it shows the Iranian nation has "consolidated" its victory.

Rezaei also said no new decision has been made to change Iran's nuclear doctrine. Reuters reports he said Iran is debating whether to keep its ban on nuclear weapons if hostilities resume. Clash Report reported that Vance reportedly offered to meet Rezaei over a nuclear deal on Friday.

Warnings Ahead of the Midterms

The remarks come amid a wave of warnings from Tehran. Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei called on Saturday for a response "without geographic limitations" to any new attack, Iran International reports. Iran's armed forces chief also warned of a harsher response, saying the military is updating its target list.

Washington is weighing its next move. The Wall Street Journal reported this week that the U.S. told regional allies to prepare for a short, intense round of fighting after the Nov. 3 midterm elections. MS NOW reported Gulf officials said strikes could begin as soon as Nov. 4.

Who Is Rezaei

Rezaei is a former commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC). President Masoud Pezeshkian appointed him secretary of the council on Aug. 9, Mehr News Agency reports.

He replaced Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr. Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei also named Rezaei his representative on the council, according to Tasnim.
