Hamas holds Israeli forces responsible for the failed kidnapping attempt in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis, describing the operation as ‘a new failure for the fascist army and its terrorist leadership’.

According to a statement released by Hamas on Monday, a special Israeli force disguised as women attempted to capture Ahmed Kamel Sarhan, a senior commander of the Al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades. Sarhan resisted the raid and was martyred in a direct clash with the attackers.

Human Shield Tactics

Hamas stated that Israeli troops kidnapped Sarhan's wife and child during the operation, using them as human shields to secure their retreat. The statement condemned the use of civilians in military operations as a "renewed blatant violation of humanitarian laws and norms" and demanded immediate international intervention to secure their release.

Hamas held the Israeli government fully responsible for the safety of Sarhan's family and all other detainees in Israeli prisons, urging the international community to condemn the operation. The group reiterated its commitment to resisting what it described as ongoing "Zionist terrorism" and rejected any attempts to force the Palestinian people into surrender or displacement.
