Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Tuesday signaled a return to politics with a dual pledge to unseat incumbent Benjamin Netanyahu and accelerate the collapse of the Iranian regime.

In recent broadcast appearances, Bennett criticized the current government’s handling of domestic security and the confrontation with Tehran.

He is positioning himself as the only viable right-wing candidate capable of securing national leadership and altering the region's geopolitical trajectory.

Iran’s “worst nightmare ever”

Bennett’s electoral pitch is heavily tied to an aggressive posture toward Iran.

In an interview with Piers Morgan, he delivered a direct message to the leadership in Tehran, stating he intends to be their “worst nightmare ever”.

He added that his efforts will not relent until the Iranian people are freed and the state's nuclear ambitions are neutralized.

The former premier compared the current Iranian state to the Soviet Union of the 1980s, describing it as a disconnected, corrupt, and incompetent regime destined for failure.

While estimating that a systemic collapse could take anywhere from two to 15 years, he argued that Western nations have the capacity to expedite the process.

As a tactical measure, Bennett proposed supplying 30,000 to 50,000 Starlink satellite receivers to the Iranian populace.

This initiative is intended to bypass government-imposed internet blackouts during periodic waves of domestic protests.

Addressing recent diplomatic maneuvers, Bennett asserted that Iran’s nuclear program remains intact.

Asked about U.S. pressure on an Iranian ceasefire agreement, he claimed he would have handled the situation entirely differently and would have avoided yielding to foreign influence.

Challenge to Netanyahu

Speaking to Kan News, Bennett stated he would do “whatever it takes” to defeat his political rival.

He argued that the Israeli electorate has shifted to the right, necessitating a right-wing challenger to end Netanyahu’s tenure.

Bennett drew a direct parallel to Hungarian politics, noting that Viktor Orban was only challenged successfully by a right-wing candidate after 16 years of failed attempts by the center and left.

“I am the only one who can defeat him. I know how to stare Netanyahu down and defeat him,” Bennett said, referencing his previous political tenure.

He characterized Netanyahu’s governance as an example of “anti-leadership”, specifically pointing out that the October 7 attacks occurred under the current prime minister's watch.
