During the press briefing, Erdogan highlighted the urgency of halting the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and delivering immediate assistance. “Our priority is delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza. We are obliged to do whatever is necessary to stop this oppression,” he stated. He affirmed Türkiye’s commitment to efforts aimed at securing a ceasefire and restoring dignity to the Palestinian population.
Erdogan underscored that Türkiye views the international recognition of a Palestinian state as one of the most effective responses to what he called Israel’s “genocidal policy.” He confirmed having recently spoken with French President Emmanuel Macron to commend his government’s move toward recognizing Palestine. President Nguema, according to Erdogan, also shared Türkiye’s concern about the worsening humanitarian crisis.
Two-State Solution And Global Coordination
Erdogan reiterated that any lasting resolution must be based on the 1967 borders and the two-state solution framework. He warned that continued silence in the face of the Gaza crisis would equate to complicity in the suffering of civilians. “Anyone with a shred of dignity and compassion is on the verge of losing patience,” he said.
Türkiye’s message aligns with a growing bloc of international actors, including European countries, that have started acknowledging Palestinian statehood and calling for immediate humanitarian access. Erdogan concluded by reaffirming Türkiye’s readiness to act through diplomatic and practical channels to ensure a sustainable peace.
