"Epstein Class" Sen. Ossoff Slams US Government as Elite Rule
Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff went on offense in Atlanta, accusing the Trump administration of betraying its populist MAGA image and serving what he called the “Epstein class” and ultra-rich elites, as Democrats sharpen their message 9 months ahead of Election Day.

Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff - U.S. President Donald Trump
Senator Jon Ossoff used a weekend rally in Atlanta to frame Democrats as moving onto the offensive well ahead of Election Day, sharpening attacks on U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration and linking economic anxiety, governance, and constitutional concerns into a single campaign narrative.
Momentum 9 Months Out
The event, billed as a “Rally for Our Republic,” drew about 1,400 people in Atlanta on Sunday. Ossoff framed the moment against a broader climate of voter unease, citing polling that he said shows growing resistance to the Trump administration’s priorities and concern over its handling of day-to-day economic pressures. Rising prices, higher health care premiums, and tariff-driven uncertainty were cast as immediate kitchen-table issues rather than abstract policy disputes.
“A Government of the Ultra Rich”
At the center of Ossoff’s critique was a sustained attack on the administration’s composition and priorities. He rejected the claim that the MAGA movement represents working-class interests, telling the crowd: “This is a government of, by, and for the ultra rich. It is the wealthiest Cabinet ever.”
He added a sharper line aimed at elite hypocrisy: “This is the Epstein class, ruling our country. They are the elites they pretend to hate.”
Ossoff tied these claims directly to policy outcomes, arguing that prices are rising while jobs disappear and public services shrink.
“So prices are up, jobs are going away, Medicaid and school lunches are slashed, nursing homes are getting defunded,” he said, linking fiscal decisions to household-level consequences.
The critique was framed less as partisan theater than as a breach of promises made to voters who were told the administration would champion “the forgotten man and woman.”
Policy Contradictions and Costs
Foreign and domestic policy contradictions featured prominently. Ossoff argued that Trump pledged to end interventionist policies but instead revived them.
He was supposed to end the globalist world police foreign policy instead we’re doing war for oil and nation building again and threatening to conquer Greenland.
The line connected foreign posture to domestic credibility, suggesting inconsistency between rhetoric and action.
On economic policy, Ossoff accused the administration of cutting public services to benefit wealthy interests, using named figures to underscore his claim of elite favoritism.
Trump was supposed to fight for the working class, instead he’s literally closing rural clinics and hospitals to cut taxes for George Soros and Elon Musk.
Constitutional Warning Line
The Atlanta remarks echoed Ossoff’s earlier framing from Feb. 2, when he warned that the administration’s trajectory posed structural risks. Ossoff said the Trump administration was constructing what “conservatives and libertarians have long feared” which according to him was an unaccountable federal leviathan, detached from constitutional limits and hostile to individual rights.
Taken together, the Atlanta rally and Ossoff’s earlier remarks situate the campaign within a longer-running argument about how power is exercised, tying economic grievances and elite influence to questions of constitutional accountability and the durability of institutional constraints.
