“Enough!” Trump Stuns Zionist Supporters by Scolding Israel Over Lebanon

A direct U.S. intervention in Israel’s Lebanon campaign has triggered backlash among Zionist supporters, as U.S. President Donald Trump publicly rebuked Israeli military action, enforcing the terms of a fragile ceasefire.

Trump said the United States had “barred” Israel from bombing Lebanon following a ceasefire that took effect at 2100 GMT on Thursday, ending fighting that began on March 2.

“Israel will not be bombing Lebanon any longer… Enough is enough!!!” he wrote.

The language marked a rare public constraint on Israeli operations, signaling a shift in tone from Washington toward its long-standing ally.

The remarks drew immediate criticism from Zionist commentator Mark Levin, who questioned the implications of limiting Israeli action. “How will we disarm Hezbollah… if Israel does not?” he asked, warning that such a move could allow Hezbollah to regroup while weakening Israel’s deterrence posture at a critical moment.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed he accepted the truce at the “request” of his “friend President Trump,” while maintaining Israeli forces would remain in southern Lebanon.

He said: “There are things we plan to do… regarding the… rocket threat and the drone threat,” indicating continued military planning despite the ceasefire.

Among Zionist commentators, the episode has been framed less as a policy adjustment and more as a political rupture. Trump’s decision to issue a public rebuke, rather than handle differences through private channels, was seen as particularly jarring, breaking with the traditional pattern of discreet U.S.-Israel coordination on sensitive military matters.

Trump emphasized that a U.S.-Iran deal is “in no way subject to Lebanon,” even as developments overlap. The Iran war, which began on February 28, disrupted the Strait of Hormuz - carrying about 20% of global energy - before a 2-week ceasefire on April 8.

Iran has since reopened the strait during the current 10-day Lebanon truce, while the U.S. naval blockade on Iranian ports remains active. Trump said the blockade will continue until a deal is “100% complete.”

The intensity of Israel’s recent campaign in Lebanon has underscored the scale of escalation, with operations extending beyond strikes to systematic destruction. Israeli forces have launched “Silver Plow,” a plan targeting more than 20 frontline villages in southern Lebanon for home demolitions, alongside sustained airstrikes that have killed over 2,000 people since early March, according to Lebanese authorities, raising concerns over the breadth and objectives of the operation.
