Bakry made his comments during a live broadcast on Sada El-Balad TV, warning that the region is undergoing strategic fragmentation, with chaos spreading across Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, and beyond. He described what he sees as a "new Middle East project" backed by external actors and suggested that Egypt is now a primary target.

He invoked President Sisi’s earlier warnings about defending the state and religion, framing recent unrest in the region as proof of an orchestrated plan. “There’s a plan to burn Egypt from the inside using terror, rumors, and targeting the army and judiciary,” Bakry said. “Even some fools inside the country are helping them.”

He accused media campaigns, online misinformation, and coordinated psychological operations of being part of an undeclared war.

Social Media Reactions Reflect Divide

The statements were met with swift and divided reactions online. Supporters echoed Bakry’s alarm over perceived foreign interference and internal betrayal. Critics, however, questioned the motives behind such rhetoric and accused the presenter of fueling fear without evidence.

Several Egyptian commentators noted the growing trend of official and semi-official warnings about unnamed threats. “If no one can say clearly who is behind the alleged war, then maybe it’s not a war at all,” one social media user wrote.

Bakry’s comments coincide with a broader political climate of tension and uncertainty in Egypt, where economic hardship and regional turmoil continue to test public trust in the government.
