Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in Cairo on Monday to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and regional stability. The meeting, held at Al-Ittihadiya Palace, highlighted the historical ties between Egypt and Lebanon.
During the talks, President Sisi strongly condemned Israel's repeated violations of Lebanese sovereignty and called for an immediate withdrawal from all Lebanese territories. He reiterated Egypt's firm stance in supporting Lebanon’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Focus on Gaza Crisis
The leaders also addressed the ongoing Gaza crisis, emphasizing the need for an immediate ceasefire, humanitarian aid access, and the release of prisoners. They reaffirmed their support for the Palestinian cause and opposed any attempts to displace Palestinians or undermine their legitimate rights.
Sisi and Aoun further discussed the situation in Syria, stressing the importance of a comprehensive political solution that respects Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity while continuing efforts against terrorism.
