Egypt Rejects Rapid Support Forces' Government in Sudan

ClashReport
Egypt has issued a strong warning against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan, rejecting their plans to form a parallel government. High-level Egyptian sources described the RSF's move as a direct threat to Sudan's unity and stability, stressing that Cairo will not tolerate any attempts to undermine the integrity of Sudanese state institutions.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi reiterated this position during the recent Arab League summit in Baghdad, emphasizing that "any attempts to establish parallel governments will only complicate the crisis." Sisi highlighted the critical need to preserve Sudan's territorial integrity and legitimate institutions as the only path to peace and stability in the region.
The RSF's recent moves are seen as an attempt to counter significant battlefield setbacks, with reports indicating that the group is seeking political recognition to regain influence. This development comes amid fears that further fragmentation in Sudan could trigger regional instability, disrupt Nile water security, and exacerbate the refugee crisis.
