Armed men launched fresh attacks in north-central Nigeria’s Kwara State, abducting at least three people in separate raids. On Sunday night, a Point of Sale (POS) agent identified as Yman was kidnapped in Lafiagi town. Hours later, two Hausa men were seized in a violent early morning raid on Kokodo village, June 30, 2025.

Panic as Girl Escapes Capture

A young girl narrowly avoided abduction by fleeing into nearby bushes. “The attacks are becoming too rampant,” a local resident told Sahara Reporters. “Nobody has heard from the kidnappers yet. Vigilantes and security forces have been alerted.”

Businessman Targeted in Prior Raid

These attacks follow the abduction of a well-known agro-chemical dealer, popularly called “Alhaji Chemical,” taken from his home in Lafiagi on Sunday around 1:00 a.m. Witnesses said the gunmen arrived on motorcycles and overpowered local vigilantes. Community members believe the kidnapping was carefully planned.

Police Confirm Killings in Patigi

In a separate incident, the Kwara State Police Command confirmed three deaths during attacks in Mari and Lile villages in Patigi Local Government Area on June 25. The victims were identified as Timothy Paul, 35, and Alhaji Abdullahi Shehu, 51, along with his 22-year-old son. Police described the killings as “dastardly” and announced an ongoing investigation.
