Speaking in a televised address, Netanyahu declared that Iran’s nuclear sites had been successfully destroyed, affirming: “You remember that from the beginning of the operation, I promised you that Iran's nuclear facilities would be destroyed, one way or another. That promise has been fulfilled.”
He added that the United States "powerfully continued the IDF and Mossad’s strikes on Iran’s nuclear program," describing it as an existential threat to Israel and a danger to global peace.
Netanyahu revealed that President Trump called him following the operation, extending congratulations to him, the Israeli people, and the Israel Defense Forces.
“President Trump is courageously leading the free world,” Netanyahu stated, lauding Trump as “a tremendous friend of Israel, an unparalleled friend.”
He went further in his praise, declaring: “Trump’s bold decision to target Iran’s nuclear facilities with the awesome and righteous might of the United States will change history.”
President Isaac Herzog echoed Netanyahu’s sentiments, calling the airstrikes a “brave step” that serves “the security and safety of the entire free world,” and expressing hope it would lead to the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza.
Defense Minister Israel Katz called the strikes “historic,” emphasizing that the destruction of Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan prevents Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons that could endanger both regional and U.S. security.
Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar stated that Trump had “inscribed his name in golden letters in the pages of history,” hailing him as a true friend of Israel.
Netanyahu emphasized a recurring doctrine shared with Trump: “peace through strength.” He explained, “First comes strength, then comes peace. And tonight, President Trump and the United States acted with a lot of strength.”
He concluded by thanking Trump on behalf of Israel and what he called “the forces of civilization.”
