Putin Voices Support for Syria’s Territorial Integrity
Putin told Sharaa that Russia has been closely following Syria’s efforts to restore its territorial integrity and said the process is gaining momentum.
“We have always advocated for the restoration of Syria’s territorial integrity, and we support all your efforts in this direction,” Putin said. He highlighted the integration of the Euphrates region as an important step that would contribute to restoring Syria’s territorial unity, congratulating Sharaa on the progress.
Sharaa Recalls Russia’s History During Moscow Visit
Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa said this was his second visit to Russia and remarked:
“On the way here from the airport, I saw a great deal of snow, which made me remember history. I recalled how many military campaigns some parties launched in an attempt to reach Moscow, and how both the courage of the Russian people and the weather helped repel those attacks.”
Reconstruction and Economic Cooperation
Putin said Russian and Syrian institutions continue to work together, noting that a Russian government delegation recently visited Syria and held productive discussions.
He added that Russia plans to expand cooperation with Syria across various sectors and said Russian companies are ready to take part in Syria’s reconstruction efforts.
