In the Jabal Blat area, the IDF said soldiers located a Hezbollah compound that included a weapons warehouse and firing positions. The site was demolished during the raid. Separately, in a forested area near Labbouneh, reservists from the Oded Brigade found a multiple rocket launcher, machine gun, and dozens of explosive devices hidden in the terrain. These weapons were also destroyed.
Combat engineers also demolished an underground Hezbollah weapons cache found in the same area, according to military sources.
While Israeli airstrikes in response to Hezbollah’s alleged ceasefire violations have continued since the November 2024 ceasefire agreement, ground operations beyond five permanent Israeli posts in southern Lebanon have been infrequent. These raids represent a notable escalation in Israel’s tactical posture along the northern front.
The IDF released footage of the operations on July 9, indicating a shift toward more direct engagements with Hezbollah positions amid rising regional tensions.
