Russian President Vladimir Putin has been invited to join US President Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace” for Gaza, the Kremlin said on Monday, confirming Moscow is reviewing the proposal for the UN-backed body overseeing post-war reconstruction.

Kremlin Confirms Invitation

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters during a regular briefing that the invitation was delivered through diplomatic channels.

“President Putin also received through diplomatic channels an invitation to join this Board of Peace,” Peskov said, adding that Moscow was now examining the proposal and expected further clarification from the US side.

He did not provide a timeline for a decision.

Trump-Led Board to Oversee Gaza Reconstruction

The Board of Peace, chaired by Trump, forms a central pillar of Washington’s plan to demilitarize and rebuild Gaza following two years of devastating war between Israel and Hamas fighters.

The initiative has been endorsed by the United Nations and is intended to coordinate political oversight, security arrangements and large-scale reconstruction across the enclave.

Trump has described the group as “the Greatest and Most Prestigious Board ever assembled.”

High-Profile Global Membership

According to official statements, the board will include former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Other leaders who have received invitations include Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Argentine President Javier Milei and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

The breadth of invitations highlights Washington’s effort to assemble a globally representative body with influence across diplomacy, security and finance.

Russia’s Role Under Review

While Moscow has not yet accepted the invitation, the Kremlin’s confirmation signals that Russia is considering a potential role in Gaza’s post-war governance framework.

Analysts say Putin’s participation would mark a significant geopolitical development, placing Russia inside a US-led initiative operating under UN endorsement but chaired directly by the American president.

For now, the Kremlin says it is awaiting further details before deciding whether to formally join the board.
