"Once Terror Ends in Northern Syria, the Entire Region Will Breathe a Sigh of Relief"

President Erdoğan made striking statements on counterterrorism, developments in Syria, and debates over the global system. He said Türkiye is following the right course both on the ground and at the diplomatic table.

“Our Determination in the Fight Against Terrorism Is Growing”

President Erdoğan said the fight against terrorist organizations, especially ISIS, is getting stronger day by day, emphasizing that terrorism is being uprooted from the region with determination. He noted that once the threat in northern Syria is eliminated, the entire region will find relief.

Once the separatist terrorist threat in northern Syria is completely eliminated, not only the Syrian people but our entire region will breathe a sigh of relief.

“Islamic Brotherhood Will Be Our Common Ground”

Delivering a message of unity to the peoples of the region, Erdoğan emphasized that Islamic brotherhood will be the common ground. Calling for common sense, patience, and calm, he warned against provocations carried out through social media.

President Erdoğan said ethnic- and sect-based tensions drag the region into instability, stressing that polarization harms both Türkiye and the wider geography.

Touching on Syria policy, Erdoğan said Türkiye has stood on the right side of history. He noted that millions of people in Aleppo, Hama, Homs, Afrin, and Idlib speak about Türkiye and pray for it.

Referring to debates in Davos, Erdoğan said Türkiye’s long-standing criticism of the global system is now being echoed by Western leaders. President said “Those who criticised us harshly until yesterday are now agreeing with us.”
