The United Kingdom has sanctioned Israeli Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, imposing travel bans and asset freezes over their roles in what the UK describes as exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Ministers Targeted for Hardline Stances

Both Ben-Gvir and Smotrich serve in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s far-right coalition. Ben-Gvir has publicly called for the mass resettlement of Palestinians from Gaza, while Smotrich has worked to block humanitarian aid from entering the territory.

Their positions have drawn growing criticism from international observers as civilian casualties mount and Gaza’s infrastructure collapses under Israeli bombardment.
