Tunisia and Japan have strengthened their bilateral security and counterterrorism ties following the fourth session of their joint dialogue held in Tokyo. The meeting aimed to deepen collaboration in areas such as information exchange, rapid crisis response, and the fight against organized crime and cyber threats.

High-Level Participation and Shared Priorities

The Tunisian delegation was led by Abdelraouf Atallah, senior advisor to the President in charge of national security, and included officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Interior, and Justice. On the Japanese side, talks were headed by Hiro Minami, Ambassador for International Counterterrorism Cooperation. Both sides emphasized the importance of the dialogue as a permanent coordination mechanism to address evolving security challenges.

Focus on Crisis Management and New Technologies

In addition to counterterrorism, the session addressed crisis management capabilities and the integration of modern technologies to boost security systems' effectiveness. This builds on momentum from the previous session held in Tunisia in December 2023.
