The Kremlin confirmed that U.S. arms deliveries to Ukraine, including Patriot missile systems, are continuing despite ongoing hostilities and diplomatic efforts for a ceasefire. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that recent comments by U.S. President Donald Trump highlight Washington’s ongoing military support for Kyiv, with Europe set to cover part of the costs.
Speaking to reporters, Peskov said, “The fact remains that the supply of weapons, ammunition, and military equipment from the United States continued and continues to Ukraine.” While Trump did not specify how many Patriot systems would be delivered, he stated that European nations would reimburse the U.S. for the cost, aligning with his broader policy of shifting financial burdens to Washington’s allies.
Reports also indicate that Trump is preparing to announce a new weapons package that includes offensive arms for Ukraine, marking a significant policy shift from his earlier hesitations.
Peskov reiterated that Russia is prepared for a third round of peace talks but accused Kyiv of delaying negotiations. “Kyiv was obviously in no hurry,” he said, emphasizing that Russia is awaiting clarity on timing from Ukraine’s leadership.
The Kremlin’s remarks reflect ongoing frustration with the slow pace of diplomacy and the West’s continued military support for Ukraine. Moscow has consistently condemned Western arms shipments as prolonging the conflict.
