US President Donald Trump met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House for a three hour closed door meeting that ended without any concrete agreements, particularly on Iran. The talks drew attention due to their unusual handling, as Netanyahu entered through a personnel entrance away from cameras and left the White House without appearing publicly alongside Trump.

No Final Decision on Iran Talks

Speaking after the meeting, Trump described the talks as positive but inconclusive. He underlined that he personally pushed for diplomatic engagement with Iran to continue, signaling that a negotiated outcome remains his preferred option.

Trump said he had conveyed to Netanyahu that reaching an agreement with Iran would be favorable if possible, adding that the alternative scenarios would depend on Tehran’s choices in the coming period.

Recent US-Iran Contacts in Focus

Netanyahu’s visit came shortly after US and Iranian officials held indirect talks in Oman, aimed at preventing a broader military confrontation in the Middle East. While several Arab states have called for de-escalation, Israel has repeatedly argued that stronger military pressure on Iran is necessary.

Trump acknowledged the delicate balance, referencing past negotiations that failed to produce results and led to military escalation.

Closed-Door Meeting and Implicit Warnings

The meeting between Trump and Netanyahu was held privately, with limited official readouts. In a post following the talks, Trump said he hoped Iran would act “reasonably and responsibly” this time around.

He also recalled last June’s 12-day conflict with Iran, which ended with US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities under an operation known as “Midnight Hammer,” carried out after diplomatic efforts stalled.

Gaza and Regional Issues Also Discussed

Netanyahu’s office confirmed that discussions covered Israel’s security concerns, Gaza, negotiations with Iran, and broader regional developments. Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination and ongoing dialogue, though no specific policy shifts were announced.
