Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, has issued a severe warning to India’s military leadership, stating that any new hostilities would be met with a “decisive blow” inflicting retributive military and economic losses beyond imagination.
A Warning of Retributive Strikes
In his pointed address to the Indian military, Field Marshal Munir asserted that Pakistan would not be coerced by rhetoric and would react forcefully to any provocation.
Should a fresh wave of hostilities be triggered, Pakistan would respond much beyond the expectations of the initiators.
The Army Chief noted that with the lines between combat and communication zones blurring, Pakistan's military capabilities would overcome any strategic depth India might perceive.
The reach and lethality of our weapon systems will shatter the misconceived immunity of India's geographic vastness.
This direct language signals a readiness to escalate beyond conventional military targets, promising "deeply hurting, retributive military and economic losses."
Nuclear Reality and a Call for Dialogue
Highlighting the catastrophic risks of a full-scale conflict, the Field Marshal offered a firm caution about the strategic environment.
I advise and firmly caution the Indian military leadership that there is no space for war in a nuclearized environment
Alongside the threat, Munir extended a call for diplomacy, urging India to “settle the core issues with Pakistan as per the international norms on the basis of equality and mutual respect.”
Onus of Escalation
Concluding his message, the Field Marshal made it clear that Pakistan would hold India responsible for any future conflict and its devastating fallout.
He stated that Pakistan “shall respond decisively beyond proportions to even a minor provocation without any qualms.”
Munir said “The onus of ensuing escalation, one that may ultimately bear catastrophic consequences for the entire region and beyond, will squarely lie with India.”
